Operation and management of diesel generators, steam boilers, and heating systems, ensuring fuel efficiency, load balancing, and continuous power supply in variable marine conditions. Maintenance and calibration of fuel oil and lube oil purifiers, optimizing oil quality and reducing wear on critical engine components for long-term machinery performance. Monitoring engine performance through vibration analysis, temperature and pressure readings, and taking immediate corrective actions based on trend deviations. Implementing and managing the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), including scheduling, logging, and updating technical data for all engine room equipment. Conducting regular engine room rounds, reading parameters, identifying abnormalities, and taking preventive measures before faults escalate into failures. Preparing vessels for dry docking, including machinery isolation, disassembly planning, and coordination with yard teams for heavy equipment maintenance. Responding to emergency breakdowns under pressure, executing temporary or permanent repairs using limited onboard resources to restore functionality. Enforcing strict safety protocols in engine room operations, including confined space entry, hot work procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices. Maintaining audit-ready documentation and records in preparation for ISM, port state, class and SIRE inspections, with full awareness of compliance requirements. Managing spare parts inventory and consumables with accurate tracking, reporting low stock levels, and coordinating timely reordering to avoid shortages.
